Aquapazza

Aquapazza is a fighting game based on the Aquaplus visual novels and games released past and present developed by Arcana Hearts developer Examu.

It focuses on the cast being caught in a interdimensional war and they must stop the bad guys atypical of a tie in cashcow fighting game story often seen alot in anime themed fighting games.

The variety of characters is serviceable enough though i did personally found it a missed opportunity to include the Dear Drops Distortion cast mainly cause i remember reviewing that game several years ago here on the blog but that aside the choices for the cast im sure are pretty appealing to fans of games like To Heart or White Album case in point.

The gameplay is pretty straightforward its the typical 2d fighting game and its emotions based too where you deal damage based on the state of emotional being your characters are in right now “high” for example that is going to be the most heavy damage you can do and you can use special abilities and combos to help you out in combat like the simple function for example making it easier to execute them.

Some of the support characters can be hit or miss like it can take some time for them to help you out in combat at least with what i found.

Unfortunately some of the enemy ai can be hit or miss like the overreliance of block attacks sometimes so the difficulty can be pretty iffy as a result of it.

Its also tag team too where you can also have a support to carry you in combat.

The graphics and artstyle was pretty good.

The original voice actors return to reprise their roles for the characters which is good.

The controls are way more responsive and fun to utilize than so on Arcana Hearts 3.

The music is pretty good too.

The game does have a variety of modes from many different challenge modes to story and afterstory mode.

The multiplayer feature is long since dead by now so im not going to cover that. (not that iwould have been in the first place)

The tutorial mode too its not as in depth as it should of been like its bare minimum explanation of certain mechanics.

Overall it was a decent fighting game.

It gets 4 out of 5 stars.

This is another one not so easy to find especially since no further ports of this game has been made sadly otherwise its a pretty decent fighting game and maybe it will get a port someday in the future so who knows for sure.
