Cultural Exchange With A Game Center Girl is an anime adaptation of the manga series of the same name. Lily Baker, the main character is a British exchange student who moves with her family to Japan. She loves arcade games and befriends other arcade game players. The anime does show some cultural exchanges between Lily and her Japanese friends and offers a somewhat of a unique take to the gaming nature of the series. In one episode, Lily has a birthday party with her friends and they dress up in Alice In Wonderland Cosplay.

The characters are pretty over the top and quirky. Lily’s father Oliver Baker dotes on her is very protective of her. He is one of the most wackiest characters in recent comedic anime history is paranoid about what Lily is doing. He means well but he can be scary.
The comedy was more or less the same misunderstandings for the sake of moving the plot along with mistranslations here and there.
There are many parodies of real world games like one being a cross between House of the Dead and the on rail shooters of the Resident Evil games.
The animation and art were generally good and quite vibrant. The music was decent too.
Overall, it was an alright anime.
It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
