blood-c

Blood-C is the second anime based on Blood series and it was co-developed by Clamp and Production I.G. Like in the book itself, it focuses on Saya Kisaragi, a seemingly shy schoolgirl who spends her time hunting monsters at night. She has to defend her small village against gruesome monster attacks and wonders about the origins of the monsters, called Elder Bairns.

The action isultraviolent and it is not for the faint hearted. Saya has tobattle hard against the brutal monsters and loses some fights. The monsters were inspired by Lovecraft like creatures, and they get more deadly as the series progress.

The school setting offers a stark contrast to the world around Blood-C. Admittedly, the school stuff just felt of out of place and distracting to the story, making it slow and tiresome. The characters were uninteresting, and the comedy seems out of place in such a violent story. The ending left more questions than answers. The music and the voice acting were very good. I liked the character designs.

Overall, it’s a below average anime.

It gets 3 out of 5 stars.

This series damaged Production I.G and Clamp’s reputations because of the story. And i highly doubt we'll even get a proper adaptation of the books if ever cause of this shit.
