Ys X NORDICS
Ys X Nordics is the latest entry into the Y's series and is the tenth release of the series and events occur after “Ys II: Ancient Ys Vanished”. The story revolves around Adol Christin and his companion Karja Balta, and others as they battle immortal sea monsters aboard the ship Sandras. The game has naval warfare and sea exploration.
It is an action adventure game where you explore around various locations but this time, you now have a ship and you can use it to take down enemy ships, win resources, and conquer islands. The better you perform, the higher quality the rewards will be.
You can also gain new abilities to help you in exploration, and unlock perks to help you in combat. You can upgrade your ship’s equipment and choose a variety of weapons. Adding new shipmates gives you additional bonus.
Exploring Dungeons was pretty straight forward, sometimes you have to swap characters to solve the puzzles. Combat was excellent with each character having their own unique playstyle and combos and teaming up together to do deadly moves.
However instead of the usual three person combat system, this game has two players fighting. The graphics and the art were excellent. The localization was below par and the story was ok.
Overall, Ys X Nordics was enjoyable and fun to play. It gets 4 out of 5 stars.
