Devil Summoner Raidou  Remastered is an entry within the Devil Summoner sub series of Shin Megami Tensei. It focuses on the Raidou clan solving mysteries and protecting Japan. The clan is trying to solve a particular case where they must stop a group of demons from creating a super soldier project.  Â

The game instead of being turn based, utilizes a real time combat system like the Tales games. It has some new additions like the stealth strike, locking on enemies and mag drain and third person shooter elements as well. The user interface isn’t micromanagement focused like other jrpgs of that era in the 2000s and it’s very easy to use. There are side cases too you can take part in but it is not really that engaging unlike the Yakuza games as its mainly just only have a certain item or use a demon to solve problems. Nothing to demanding.Â
Some enemies were damage sponges resulting in sometimes tedious gameplay. The game’s economy isn’t as expansive as the Persona games but here, the more you stuff you buy, the more stuff and better deals you gain eventually. The game has new difficulty features like sleuth which rectifies a complaint I had about ATLUS having easier difficulties as DLC. Shin Megami Tensei Apocalypse and Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker had that bizarre DLC choice and this game even though it is a remaster, it is full DLC and numerous microtransactions unfortunately. Â
Like before, there is a lot of dialogue choices that means nothing in the end since the story still plays out the same. There is also an increase in slots for combat and what demons you can find and recruit. The demon recruitment system is more simple and straightforward and doesn’t rely on annoying random backstabbing shit testing at any given moment while negotiating. It relies on confinement instead of negotiating during the turn based system. Â
Demon fusion returns with significant improvements and tweaks for a more fun experience. The demons in the game can help you investigate and solve puzzles through solo investigation or through their special abilities.
The dungeons were mostly straightforward and the backtracking wasn’t that much of an issue.Â
The graphics and the art were very good. The music was decent too. The localization and the voice acting were serviceable but could have been better.Â
The characters were as a whole were not engaging and a bit on the bland side. Gotou on the otherhand, is a huge step up and improvement from Morgana and Teddie, the previous mascots from the Persona series who were just annoying and more of a hinderance than help.

Gotou helps you where to go and tells you on how to proceed next and he doesn’t have the annoying impulsiveness Morgana has or an entire filler level dedicated to reconcilling with him. (Side note if you fucking faggots there say oh how dare i like pure black cats and not other cats of color or oh i must be one of those pro dog people who hate cats even tho i literally own pets of all kinds, listen the fuck up losers theres mental asylums waiting to take you in and keep you there for the remainder of your life and m.a.i.d programs to sign up too here in where i live in.)
Overall this was a decent remaster. Â
It gets 4 out of 5 stars. Â
I remember a while back saying im over smt since they wouldn’t bring back the older games and they just keep milking persona 3-5 yeah im still on something of a hiatus from the games, raidou was just something, i wanted to get for a while now and i still completely absolutely hate all fandoms in existence and still avoid them at all times too. Â
Just one more thing to add in as well is yeah keep the pressure up in keeping these insufferable faggots be it from the companies themselves or within the fandoms in hell that they belong too be it predator catching like what chris hansen does, or justifiably so increasing the 41 percent rate like sending monsters like that troon burntfishie in the ground like they should be in enough said.Â
