LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW 

Lollipop Chainsaw is a horror hack and slash comedy game by Grasshopper and movie director and writer now as of this writing the current head of DC studios James Gunn. 

The story focuses on Juliet Starling who comes from a family of Zombie Hunters and they must stop a zombie invasion in San Romero. Naturally, Juliet is adept as using her multi-purpose chainsaw to slay hordes of Zombies. The game is fairly short so it is quick play through. 

The gameplay is simple, kill zombies and sometimes save fellow San Romero high school students, and proceed to defeat the bosses. The comedy in this game is a lot of fan service related stuff which the game has and, also more than a few pop culture references. 

The funniest was The Chappele show reference during one of the boss fights.  There are a variety of Zombies so it is not the same fights. There is a shop where you can purchase upgrades and new moves. 

The voice acting in the game was excellent. Actors included James Gunn’s regular collaborators, his brother Sean and Michael Rooker. The music was also very good.

The game’s main problem was really the quick time events being overused.  

Overall, this was an alright game.  

It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
