Sakura Wars The Movie is an anime movie based around the Sakura Wars anime series and games itself. 

Like before it focuses on the Imperial Sumire Revue protecting Japan but this time a rival team comes up and it turns out that rival team could be in cahoots with the villains and is up to no good so its up them to stop the bad guys. 

The plot itself isn’t really anything all that special and you also really have to be a hardcore fan of the series to really get the best investment from the plot since everyone is already established as is. 

One big plot point is about the Americanization of the Imperial Revue as an attempt by the bad guys due to how inefficient they supposedly are yet, they can easily get the job done quite quickly oddly despite the alleged need for the Americanization of it so it was just villains being villains nothing really that original. 

The new additions to the team weren’t really anything that special nor did they had the charm of the original cast either especially Rachette who they try to push as the new best girl but really just comes off as a borderline sociopath. 

The music is pretty good. 

The art and animation is as good as ever the cgi itself hasn’t really aged that well either. 

The characters are as same as before. 

Overall it was an ok movie. 

It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
