Slayers

Slayers is an anime series based on the light novel high fantasy stories of the same name that is still ongoing without any kind of definitive end like berserk or one piece to this day. 

It focuses on the various adventures of sorceress Lina Inverse getting herself caught in various shenanigans. 

The lore of the series was pretty interesting so was the unique setting that it had. 

Unfortunately lot of the times apparently the story did strayed from the original books.

The art and animation still hold up quite well to this day. 

The characters themselves were pretty much as tropey and annoying as both can really get. 

Lina is an absolute insufferable and obnoxious lead character. 

From greediness,iresponsibiltiy and general impulsiveness to also moments of mental instability you can really tell alot of annoying characters descended from her as well as many other anime tropes you could see today.  

Not helping either is her own lack of self awareness too and she wonders why so many people in the anime just find her ditzy and annoying. 

Amelia too is another bland and self righteously obnoxious character too who like Lina jumps into situations without thinking ahead impulsively and does more harm than good despite her idealistic morality views. 

The action is very predictable and it pretty much always ends in the main cast favor so the world saving stakes isn’t really as high as the series makes it out to be. 

The anime is a very long series keep in mind with about a 100 plus episodes including ovas and movies too. 

The comedy is pretty annoying its usually impulsiveness or greed or snarky remarks not needed at important times. 

the music was pretty good though. 

Overall it was an average series. 

It gets 3 out of 5 stars. 

An odd misconception especially one created by tourists is that its super underated and obscure like nge of all things.  Its just tourists being braindead idiots that they always are tell them to fuck off and do a backflip like burntfishie did of a bridge and anime will be fine far fucking away from those weirdos period.
