Tears To Tiara 2 is the sequel to the first entry of the Tears To Tiara game and as of now, the only international release of the Tears To Tiara games. The anime adaptation of the first game came first before the game. The game is developed by Aquaplus and its a mix of visual novel elements and tactical based strategy JRPG. The game is set in the same universe as its predecessor. The main character Hamil, is the last of his noble line fighting with the resistance against the empire to reclaim his throne. Hamil can transform into a more powerful version as he battles the rulers.

The story is not very interesting, and the characters are bland. The tutorial was longer than what should normally be for a JRPG. It takes about 2 hours to get through it. The art was good and the graphics looked old. However, the environmental designs were good. The game has a lot of micromanagement, where the disadvantages outweighs the benefits of getting new equipment and skills you can unlock as you progress through the game and it just becomes quite cumbersome.

Unlike other sting tactical based JRPGs, you can replay maps to grind through just in case and you are graded based on how well you did in combat. You can craft equipment too. Some of the missions were annoying too, like you must go through things at a certain amount of turns or its game over. You can rewind turns just in case you mess up which can be useful.
The game is quite long and the pacing is slow.
Overall, this was an average game.
It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
