Towards The Terra E is an anime adaptation of the manga series. It is set in the 31st millennium where the world is now governed by powerful computers known as “superior dominance” along with a select of elite humans. The Superior Dominance controls all aspects of life even human reproduction and child rearing.  When children turn 14, they are brainwashed and programmed to conform to the laws of Superior Dominance.

In the midst of this, some humans have developed superior abilities called Mu and want to challenge the current system so there is a war between these newly evolved humans and Superior Dominance. The Mu want to rescue the children before they are programmed.

The story is told in a nonlinear format as it often jumps and back and forth between periods of time. This makes it difficult to follow given how many time shifts there are.  It can be not really that easy to follow through considering how much jumps in time there can be. The future world was very intriguing with great visuals.

The music was pretty decent while the animation and art were excellent. On the otherhand, the CGI has not aged well.

The anime doesn’t have any forced humor thankfully considering the more so mature like storytelling focusing on dystopian war and what happens when AI takes over our lives.  Pacing was slow but this is ok as this anime should not be rushed viewing.

Overall, it was an alright anime.

It gets 4 out of 5 stars.
