Atelier Yumia is the latest entry from the Atelier games by Koei Tecmo.
It focuses on Yumia trying to help restore the world in a place where alchemy is now illegal and frowned upon and to figure out why its been really outlawed in the first place and to stop the threat too.

The game is focused on botw type of exploration where you must discover things take part in quests and use alchemy to create various things to help you in the journey theres defiently elements of nier here and there too with the apocaylptic like ruined setting too.
Its a slow burner too as the game does take a bit of a while to get things going along.
The time of day as well affects the kind of stuff you can gather too.
Combat is mix of turn based with some real time elements you can level up and get skill points through interaction with the world around you, to help you in your journey.

You can swap manual control with party members actively in battle and in reserve whenever possible. Further, you can dodge telegraphed enemy attacks; successful attempts grant opportunities to perform a damaging character swap. If all those facets aren’t enough, useable synthesized items can be equipped for all party members, instilling numerous effects from healing to inflicting raw damage and status afflictions.
You can find atelier bases and help set up survey camps and customize them as time goes by too.
The game does have multiple forms of transporation too from ziplines to motorcycles.
Theres random quests at times where you have to defeat enemies from time to time totally optional.
The game has alot of tutorials after tutorials which makes sense given how much of stuff there is to do in the game.
The game does have an automatic synthesis feature to keep things simple if that is your preference.

The localization is surprisingly well done especially since its from in house and not from a third party retarded middleman group like nis in the past or xseed for example.
The characters as tropey as tropey can get atypical of a jrpg of course.
The graphics and art is pretty good.
The music is good too.
The game did had its slowdowns and hiccups from time to time.
Overall it was a decent game.
It gets 4 out of 5 stars.
