Dokapon Kingdom Connect is a Switch remaster of the original Dokapon for the Wii by Sting Entertainment. The game is a hybrid between board game and JRPG styled gameplay. The storyline is straightforward, gain as much money and assets as you can acquire and defeat the bad guys. When monsters suddenly appear and cause chaos and economic ruin in the kingdom, the King calls upon the best warriors to defeat the monsters and collect money any way they can. The person who pillages the most money will get the hand of the princess in marriage. This causes total mayhem as the supposed heroes tries to sabotage and cheat their way to the most gold.

You can customize and choose the type of characters you want during the game and see if you can manage to remain in the first place too. Three starting jobs are available to the new adventurer (warrior, thief, and magician), and following a pattern of leveling, eleven character jobs and darkling (if someone hears the whisper of the dark revenge, usually the current last place player) are possible. The game is won by the player with the most money at the end. The winner gets to marry the king's daughter if the player is male; the king makes an offer himself if the player is female, but will be rejected. However, regardless of gender, the winner takes the control of the kingdom.
Since its a board game, you use a spinner to determine where to move. Battles are turn based. If you get defeated or give up, you lose an item or you are unavaible for a few turns. You can level up after a while and be able to fight other adventurers and take their items too. You can get various items and bonuses depending on luck. At the end of each week you get a salary based on how well you performed and how much property you own.
The graphics were ok and so was the artstyle too. The voice acting was subpar
Overall it was an average game.
It gets 3 out of 5 stars.
This game is really meant for enthusiasts of board games and not for fans of Mario Party.
