Neptunia Virtual Stars

Neptunia Virtual Stars is a spin off based on the Neptunia series crossing over with various vtuber groups.

The story focuses on a mysterious threat known as Antis (based off a real life term referring to a group of people who dedicate themselves to going after and bullying vtubers for their own sadistic amusement) and its up to the goddesses of Neptunia to help the vtubers and save the day. 

The story itself its as low effort as low effort can really get here. Lot of it really just focuses around promoting various vtubers prominent at the time from hololive to verse for example. (Keep in mind some of these vtubers have long since “graduated” and has moved independant or to other companies) so you won’t be seeing more current vtubers that are pretty popular as of now like Calliope Mori or Alba Sera for example. 

The music itself from the vtubers was pretty good. 

The graphics and artstyle itself is as good as ever. 

The combat is based around the hybrid style of Vanquish with one part being based on hack and slash and the other part being, third person shooter.  

Each character has their own playstyle and special abilities to utilize in combat. 

You can boost to help you move around in combat and jump even further too. 

Unfortunately for those who were hoping that the real life vtubers are playable, they are not only just for support and thats it. 

The combat is fast paced and frentic but lot of the enemies like before are just reskins of one another and can be damage sponges too.  

You can get vtubers to support you in combat to cheer you on and give you bonuses. 

You can find vtuber cubes and upgrade them to make combat alot easier and less of a grind to go through. 

There was moments of filler and of course backtracking here and there just to pad the story unfortunately. 

The dungeons themselves were straight forward for the most part but even then you can tell how recycled the designs were and when you look closer too you can see its age really starting to show now at this point of the series with how much the recycling is finally starting to catch up to the gameplay affecting it in a negative manner. 

Theres a rhythm game called Beatik thats kind of like the project diva games where you press the button and aim for the high score and the better you do the more prizes you can get. 

There was some technical hiccups here and there. 

Overall it was an average game. 

It gets 3 out of 5 stars. 

This game really only was just made to get people to subscribe to the respective vtubers (honestly i doubt it even really cause their numbers to grow THAT MUCH) in terms of social media following online and to of course, buy their merchandise too. 

Also the whole concept of antis now that i think of it for the game, this is pretty much Idea Factorys way of saying antis should be killed and any bad shit that happens to them is well deserved which i defiently do agree with.

Especially these days with how obnoxious wokies all are and yeah they defo do deserve to die in a horrific manner and it would make for some good schaunfraude entertainment seeing them suffer so badly to the point of death especially with troons too lol. 

And speaking of antis to any vtuber who comes across this heres a piece of advice, don’t be afraid to drop the banner on these retarded dick riding cancel culture obsessed puritan twitter freak leftists.  If you wanna play omori,undertale,hollow knight,hogwarts legacy whatever go right ahead you can play it however you feel like and if some loser 41 percenter troon tells you you are a transphobic incel for playing hogwarts legacy tell them do a backflip their other fuckbuddy burntfishie did. Report them all to hell and back don’t let these cancel culture fuckers win at all whatsoever. 

But yeah you really have to be a hardcore fan of vtubers and neptunia to enjoy this game and i don’t really see myself playing any neptunia game at this point in the near future unless its the sega crossover one or the anime than forget it.
